Brunch is arguably the most fun meal. Maybe because it only happens on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, or maybe it’s the offering of the best of breakfast and lunch dishes or maybe it’s because brunch is a meal encourages lingering like no other. Whatever your reason brunch is a meal to revere.

The only thing better than brunch is bottomless brunch. When else can you wash down your French Toast with a drink or four for a reasonable price? Long Island restaurants have been slow to embrace Manhattan’s bottomless brunch craze after all unlike in the city the Island is ruled by cars requiring someone to abstain. But lucky for those that live within walking distance of Long Island’s many towns and villages that are more and more places where you can indulge in a Bloody Mary or Mimosa. In anticipation of the weekend here are our picks for bottomless brunch options across the Island.

The Arden, Port Jefferson 

Nestled in the heart of Port Jefferson, the Arden serves a three-hour bottomless brunch until 3pm on Sundays. The $20 bottomless beverages menu is in addition to your entrée choice and includes all-you-can-drink mimosas and Bloody Marys. Or you could skip the bottomless beverage menu for their bottomless entrée, the Mother Mary. The restaurant’s popular Bloody Mary made with vodka, jumbo, grilled shrimp a mini BLT slider and olives served in a mason jar. Tables at the hit restaurant, which opened last summer, fill up quickly and reservations are recommended.

Beachtree Café, East Islip
This casual comfortable eatery in East Islip has bottomless brunch from 10am to 3pm on Sundays. Unlimited refills of mimosas, bloody marys and screwdrivers are yours with the purchase of one entrée. The only rule is pants are required, which seems like a pretty good rule to us too.

Wave Seafood Kitchen, Post Jefferson 

Known mainly for its waterfront setting and panoramic views of the Long Island Sound,Wave Seafood Kitchen, at Danfords Hotel and Marina offers two seating times for brunch, 11:30am to 1pm and 1:30pm to 3pm. The $29.95 adult menu gets you unlimited beverage selections including bloody marys, champagne and mimosas, not to mention breakfast breads, made to order omelets and more.

B.K. Sweeney’s, Garden City and Bethpage

Both BK Sweeney’s locations on the Island have a bottomless brunch from 11am to 3pm on Sundays. House mimosas, bloody marys and screwdrivers are complimentary and unlimited while dining on any of the entrees of omelets, pancakes, eggs, French toast, steak and eggs and more.

Captain Bill’s, Bay Shore

This casual waterfront restaurant in Bay Shore offers a delicious Sunday brunch buffet making it the perfect place to linger on a winter day. Captain Bill’s serves brunch from 11:30am to 2:30pm for $31 per person. Dine on made-to-order omelets, salads, and more while treating yourself an endless supply of bloody marys, mimosas, and champagne. Reservations recommended.

The Snapper Inn, Oakdale
Escape to the water and the Snapper Inn in Oakdale. The opulent inn’s restaurant offers Sunday brunch seatings from 11:30am to 1:30pm. The diverse brunch buffet menu includes a breakfast station, dinner station, and dessert station not to mention unlimited champagne and mimosas. The cost is $34.95 per person.

The View, Oakdale 

Take in the break taking views of the Great South Bay all the while indulging on a lavish Champagne Brunch. The $33.95 Sunday brunch at the View in Oakdale has seatings at 11am, 11:30am, 1pm and 1:30pm. Unlimited champagne and mimosas are served along with sushi, roasts carved to order, omelets made of order, steamed crab legs and almost anything else you would expect from the elegant restaurant.
