elephants, tanzania, safari, africa, big five

elephants greeting each other in tanzania

I love details. It’s easy to get caught up in the big stuff, especially in New York City where it seems like everyone is looking for the next apartment, the next promotion, the next (insert trendy thing here, but the more time we spend working and soon living in the city the more I try to pay attention to the little things.

The lazy morning walks with the dog, homemade pizza on a Friday night; the small things that make a life and a place, for that matter feel like home. Which is why I was so excited to come back from Tanzania (OK, not really I could spend forever watching elephants) but the waiting box from adorne by legrand made me giddy with anticipation for fall in New York.

adorne is a recently debuted collection of light switches, outlets and wall plates. When was the last time you paid attention to a light switch? Often the neglected part of a room, adorne is making them standout with more than 35 wall plates and 7 interfaces of switches that let you add your style into the little details. There’s the Custom Wall Plate that let you to add your choice of wallpaper, paint and even fabric. The Mirror White upgrades classic white, while the Brushed Brass gives areas a modern vibe.

When I first heard about them I thought they would be perfect for the New England home we’re restoring. And I have no doubt they will be, but at the moment we’re still trying to get all the doors to open and close (more on that later) and are a long way off from things like light switches, but we recently signed a contract on a condo in the Bronx and I can’t wait to install the ones adorne sent Two Gang Wall Plates in White and Stainless Steel and Whisper Switches and Paddle Switch Dimmers.
