Bree Shirvell is a Connecticut based multimedia journalist reporting on a variety of issues including environmental issues, food, travel local politics and small businesses. She is the Editor of the Stonington-Mystic Patch as well as a contributing writer to a number of publications.

Bree has written articles for national magazines and newspapers, including La Cucina Italiana, Condé Nast Traveler’s The Daily TravelerRye Patch and Stonington-Mystic Patch, OZOlifeThe Green Fork and Hellawella.

She holds a B.A. in Political Science from The George Washington University, a Master of Science in Journalism from Quinnipiac University‘s McMahon Communications Center and is a recent winner of the Connecticut Agricultural Journalism Award.

While in Washington, D.C. she worked in the U.S. House of Representatives, Senate, and for the League of Conversation Voters. Bree also spent a semester in Rome, Italy where she studied the interaction between the European Press and European Politics.

When not editing or reporting, Bree can often be found searching for the perfect cup of coffee, exploring new places through their food markets, and attempting to wrangle her golden retriever into proper behavior.
